Congress has taken the 2018 Farm Bill one step closer by approving it and passing it on to president Trump. The $867 Billion Farm Bill was the center of attention for legalizing Industrial Hemp. This opens doors creating opportunities to expand hemp in many different ways. CBD, can now be studied more effectively helping it to secure a proper place in the US Pharmacopeia. Industrial Hemp offers loads of different commodities such as agricultural feed, building supplies, food, oil, and more. The House of Representatives approved the bill in a 386 to 47 vote.
The Details of Passage
The Senate passed with an 87 to 13 vote a day prior. Now the bill is on its way to Donald Trump who has already expressed his support. The 2018 Farm Bill covers many different things such as food stamp benefits, federal and agricultural subsidies and more. All the talk though is on what now becomes a legal billion dollar industry in the United States showing no sign of slowing down. Analyst predict the legal hemp industry could reach a 20 billion dollar value in as little as three years.
