Cannabis is an in trend when it comes to food according to the latest survey from the National Restaurant Association. The survey saw 650 top-notch chefs participate in the “What’s Hot Culinary Survey.” The 650 chefs ranked 140 different food trends by three categories. Perennial favorite, yesterday’s news, or hot were the three categories.
When it came to the top spot for what’s hot, it belongs to pot. CBD infused beverages ranked on the top of the survey’s list as the trend for 2019. According to the What’s Hot Culinary Survey “nearly 77% of the chefs ranked cannabis CBD infused drinks as the number one trend, and 76% of them tapped cannabis CBD infused food as the second most popular.”
Could CBD be a Hangover Cure
It’s said that “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” This includes hangovers and all of the horrible symptoms associated with them. CBD is there to save the day these days. A South Florida bar and restaurant by the name of Tap 42 is seeing smoking success with their cannabis-themed cocktail “Gin and Chronic.” This cocktail has a CBD infused tea added to a pallet pleasing alcohol with orange, peppercorn, and other tantalizing flavors. They also offer a “Hangover Cure Shot” featuring vodka, lemon, peach, with a CBD infused tea.

The third overall hottest trend for 2019 according to this survey was zero-waste cooking. Zero waste cooking seems to be at the top of the charts combining global flavors Ethiopian, Peruvian, Filipino, West and North African characteristics.
