800 CVS stores across eight states will be carrying CBD products soon. In an effort to keep up with consumer demand the pharmacy giant by the name of CVS is entering into the cannabis business. Don’t get too excited because you’re not going to be able to go down to CVS and fill a prescription for weed. You will be able to go down to CVS and purchase industrial hemp CBD derived products. Lotions, roll-ons, spray-on, creams, and other products will be marketed as “an alternative source of relief.”
Where You Can Find CBD in CVS
Stores in Tennessee, California, Illinois, Alabama, Kentucky, Colorado, Indiana, and Maryland are stocking the shelves with hemp derived CBD products. In total CVS has an estimated 10,000 locations. Should CBD be received well by the public at these select CVS locations, it’s a good guess that CBD derived hemp products could end up in thousands of locations across the country. A spokesman for CVS told High Times “we have partnered with CBD product manufacturers that are complying with applicable laws and that meet CVS’s high standard for quality.”
Suppliers are Starting to Meet the Demands of Consumers
With consumer demand for CBD products increasing weekly it was only a matter of time before drugstore giants started offering this alternative treatment. Plant-based medicine is becoming more popular in the United States. As more people learn other countries around the world implore plant medicines and do not have such a heavy dependency on opioids, benzos, and other prescription narcotics perceptions and viewpoints are starting to change.
Compared to the past where cannabis had very little support today it has cultivated a budding following. Because of this giant companies, such a CVS are starting to pay attention to the suggestions and requests of consumers. This is why we’re starting to see cannabis in large franchise stores like CVS.
